The Green Party of Alberta Executive Council appointed James Anderson as Interim Leader in December 2025.
James Anderson is a young (28 year old) Albertan committed to restoring public faith and trust in our provincial government. As the Interim Leader of the Green Party of Alberta (GPA), she was officially appointed by the GPA Executive Council (EC) on 22 November 2025. Over time, she has displayed her dedication to the Party by consistently volunteering for multiple Committees. She currently resides within the riding of Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville (62).
As the Interim Leader, James Anderson is tasked with achieving these three Goals:
1) With the support of the nomination committee, the Interim Leader will help finalize the process of electing a permanent leader within six months. (May 2026)
2) Appoint an interim Shadow Cabinet.
3) With the help of the Shadow Cabinet, start responding to the current political environment and events.
