Official Statement – Green Party of Alberta
Regarding Elections Alberta’s news release “Alleged Inappropriate Distribution of List of Electors” dated April 30, 2026.
The Green Party of Alberta only became aware of this situation through today’s public statement from Elections Alberta. We have not been contacted directly by Elections Alberta regarding this matter.
At this time, we have no information indicating that the Green Party of Alberta has shared the List of Electors with any third party, nor have we received any allegation to that effect.
Like all registered political parties, we may receive access to the List of Electors in accordance with the Election Act (Alberta). We take our legal obligations regarding the protection and proper use of this information very seriously.
Given the seriousness of the issue, we are reviewing our internal practices to ensure full compliance. Should Elections Alberta request information or cooperation, we will fully and promptly comply with any investigation.
We believe it is important that Albertans have confidence that their personal information is protected. We support a thorough, transparent process to determine what happened and to hold people accountable when appropriate.
