Zak Abdi
Finance Critic

Zak was born and raised in Ontario but has called Edmonton home for the last 8 years. Along with hispartner and their dog, they call Edmonton – City Centre home.
Zak is a firm believer in giving back to the community taking on many volunteering roles. In the past, Zak served as vice president of finance for Enactus NAIT. A student-led organization that advances the economic, social, and environmental well-being of local communities in Edmonton. More recently Zak volunteered with the Black-Owned Market in Edmonton (BOM YEG) as finance lead. A volunteer collective with the goal of uplifting and supporting locally owned Black businesses and entrepreneurs in the greater Edmonton area.
Zak currently works in the financial services industry as an analyst. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting at the JR Shaw School of Business at NAIT. He is currently pursuing his Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation through the Credit Institute of Canada. Zak is also an owner/operator of a micro business.
During his spare time, you can catch Zak enjoying dog walks with his partner along the river valley or connecting with community members.
