Nimo is a teacher in the Edmonton Public School Board Division and holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta. Nimo is a Somali-Canadian who emigrated to Canada 22 years ago. She is passionate about and advocates for students’ holistic well-being in Education. When asked of her immediate focus in her new position, Nimo indicated the need for schools to implement programs and policy that would tackle the growing mental health challenges faced by our youth. She is reaching out to the membership now to help shape the Green Party of Alberta’s policy on Education. “It is time to stand up for a better future!” exclaims Nimo.
