Paul Bechthold
Calgary-Acadia
Paul Bechthold (he/him) is a mathematics and woodworking teacher born and raised in Treaty 7 Mohkinstsis (Calgary, Alberta). Spending time on the Bow River fishing with his father, or research farming in the test plots around Alberta for canola and cereals, in youth, Paul engaged in nature in ways that brought his perspective back to seeking wisdom and strength from nature. His passion for solving complex problems and creative thinking motivated him through a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Calgary and later a BSc in Education in the Masters of Teaching Program.
In the community, Paul volunteers his time with the Fairview Community Association, and is interested in and supports upcoming Beautification Committee projects creating spaces for people to live and play and connect. He believes that together we are stronger and can be the social fabric strong enough to carry the province in this time of transition to a cleaner future.
Paul lives in Fairview with his partner and two children and enjoys the parks and time spent playing soccer with his kids’ community leagues.
